To become a member of iAT you must be a member in good standing with the CATA and have the majority of your current or future practice in Ontario.
Upon submission of your application form, you will receive an email with instructions to provide payment. Once payment is received, the Board of Directors will review your application at their next meeting, and confirm your membership. Please note you may gain access to the members only area of the website prior to being fully accepted as a member in good standing of iAT.
Class A (voting) membership is $100 for a membership year running from January - December. This fee is pro-rated quarterly on April 1, July 1 and October 1. Your membership will expire on December 31st regardless of when you first join or renew.
CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP
Class A - Active Certified Member (Voting) - $100
CAT(C) and Provisionally Certified Athletic Therapists with more than 50% of their Athletic Therapy (AT) practice based in Ontario.
Provisionally Certified Members will be reduced Class B if they fail to complete their first exam attempt. When they have successfully completed the exam, they will be restored to Class A if requested within the calendar year. No refunds will be issued.
This category has no limits on time spent working as an AT or how much money one earns as an AT.
Class B - Certification Candidate Member (Non-voting) - $25
Certification Candidates of the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association (CATA) who live or work in Ontario.
Students studying Athletic Therapy at an institution accredited by the CATA in Ontario or with a primary residence in Ontario while studying Athletic Therapy at a CATA accredited institution outside of Ontario.
May choose to elect 1 board member from among themselves.
Class C - Honorary/Partner Member (Non-voting) - $25
Individuals and/or institutions with a vested interest in the practice or future of the profession of Athletic Therapy in Ontario, including retired or previously Certified Athletic Therapists.
Individuals or institution representatives are eligible for appointment to a board seat.
Class D - Member Emeritus (Non-voting) - $25
Individuals residing in Ontario for 50% or more or the year who have been recognised as Member Emeritus with the CATA.
Individuals are eligible for appointment to a board seat.
Class E - Inactive/Leave Members (Voting) - $25
Certified members who are not currently practising in the field of Athletic Therapy. Individual must have been a Class A member for at least one year, prior to Class E application.
Duration and reason for leave (ie. Parental/Family, Medical, Academic, Temporary relocation etc) may vary. Eligibility is based on board criteria and approval.
Class E members maintain the right to act as a voting member while on leave.
