The Institute of Athletic Therapy (“iAT”) is the sponsor and provider of www.iAthleticTherapy.org, and owner of the email address iAT.secretary@gmail.com.
This privacy policy applies to the information collected by iAT and its Board of Directors.

iAT takes your privacy seriously and is committed to safeguarding the personal information entrusted to us by our members and other individuals. We manage your personal information in accordance with all applicable laws in the province of Ontario and federal laws in Canada. Because we gather certain types of information about our users, we want to help you understand the terms and conditions surrounding the collection and use of such information. This privacy policy outlines the types of information we gather and the principles and practices that we follow in protecting your personal information.
1. What personally identifiable information does iAT collect?
iAT collects only the personal information that we need for the purposes of providing services to our members, including personal information needed to:
deliver requested services and information
receive payment of membership fees and keep financial records
record membership details and verify qualification for membership
notify clients or members of upcoming events of interest
iAT normally collects personally identifiable information from you when you provide it to us. We may also collect your information from other persons with your consent or as allowed by law.
2. What anonymous information does iAT collect?
At this time, iAT is not making use of anonymous information such as “cookies”.
iATs website provider may automatically receive and record information from our servers and from your browser, including your IP address, the time, and information about the page you requested. At the time of writing this policy, iAT does not make use of, or access this information.
At a future date, we may use tracking information to determine how much interest a page generates based on aggregate user demographics and traffic patterns to those pages. This helps us to better understand our users and their needs
3. Consent
iAT asks for consent to collect, use or disclose personal information, except in specific circumstances where collection, use or disclosure without consent is authorised or required by law. We may assume your consent in cases where you volunteer information for an obvious purpose.
We may ask for your express consent for some purposes and may not be able to provide certain services if you are unwilling to provide consent to the collection, use or disclosure of certain personal information. Where express consent is needed, we will normally ask clients or members to provide their consent electronically.
A client or member may withdraw consent to the use and disclosure of personal information at any time, unless the personal information is necessary for iAT to fulfil our legal obligations. We will respect your decision, but we may not be able to provide you with certain products or services if we do not have the necessary personal information.
iAT may collect, use or disclose client or member personal information without consent only as authorised by law. For example we may not request consent where the collection, use or disclosure is reasonable for an investigation or legal proceeding or to collect a debt owed to iAT.
4. How does iAT use the information?
iAT may use and disclose your personal information only for the purpose in which the information was collected, except as authorised by law. For example, iAT may use your information to process transactions and to alert you to new information, products and services, events and other opportunities.
5. What are my options?
Users who would rather not provide the user data requested by our membership application process or provide the required log in information do not need to join or log in to the site. You can still view some of the content and use some of the services offered by our site without being a member of iAT. We also give users the choice to opt not to provide certain personal information when joining, however some information is required to determine eligibility for membership.
6. Privacy of children
iathletictherapy.org is not directed to children under the age of 13. We operate our site in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and do not permit application by, and will not knowingly collect or use personally identifiable information from anyone under 13 years of age.

We try to reply promptly to every message. We may also file your comments to improve the site and program, or review and discard the information.
If you are not satisfied with the response you receive, you should contact the Information and Privacy Commissioner in your province.
